Cleaning Your Dimplex Optimyst Electric Fire
Why is cleaning your electric fire necessary?

Regular cleaning ensures that your electric fire performs optimally and keeps it visually appealing.
How to clean your Dimplex Optimyst electric fire:
- 1. Turn off and unplug the unit before starting any cleaning.
- 2. Remove the mist nozzle by releasing the two red retaining clips on either side.
- 3. Disconnect the transducer from the power jack and gently lift it out.
- 4. Remove the sump tank with care to avoid spilling any water left in the tank.
- 5. Rinse and dry the sump tank with water and dry it with a cloth or paper towel.
- 6. Reinsert the sump tank into the fire using the guiding slots on the side of the sump casing.
- 7. Replace the transducer. Ensure it is seated correctly in the recess. Then, reconnect the transducer cable.
- 8. Re-secure the mist nozzle and replace the water bottle.
- 9. Refill the water bottle with filtered water to avoid limescale. Screw the top on without over-tightening.

Troubleshooting Common Optimyst Electric Fire Issues
1. My electric fire is heating up, but the flame effect isn’t working. How can it be fixed?
The flame effect is one of the key visual attractions of an electric fire. If your fire is producing heat but the flame effect isn’t working, check the following:
- Check that the transducer is seated in the sump unit. Also, ensure the wire is connected.
- The transducer may need replacing if everything seems in place, but the flame still doesn’t work. For Dimplex Optimyst fires, you would need the M011B Ultransmit Transducer.

2. My fire is on, but the flame effect looks dull.
If the flame effect on your Dimplex Optimyst looks dim, check that all the lamps are on and clean.
- If any lamps are off, ensure they are secured correctly and replace them if necessary.
- Dimplex Optimyst fires use MR16 45-Watt Amber Coloured Lamps.
